Maureen FitzSimons's early accomplishments in the performing arts, that are now known as Maureen O'Hara, would certainly be a qualifier for her place in the "child prodigy" category. As a person with Irish heritage, and surrounded as she was by gifted parents and family did this naturally. Maureen joined this wonderful haven located in Ranelagh, Ireland on August 17th of 1920. Marguerita LIlburn FitzSimons is the mother of her. She was a accomplished contralto. His father, Charles FitzSimons, managed an enterprise in Dublin and also owned part of the well-known Irish soccer club "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen FitzSimons is the second daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons completed this amazing family. Maureen was a fan of rough sports as an infant and was extremely proficient in them. Her natural ability to perform was a perfect complement to her love of athletics. This was apparent when she won each Feis for theatre and drama which Ireland could provide. The Abbey Theater was her first choice. Abbey Theater by age 14 as she continued to pursue her dream of opera as well as classical theater and singing.
