Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954 was born in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson is her mother and Thomas Allison Lennox, father. Lennox played piano, flute as well as harpsichord in the Royal Academy of Music London for three years throughout the 1970s. The cost of tuition was covered by a student's allowance, and she worked part-time to earn a living. Lennox as she was studying at the Royal Academy of Music in London, was disappointed with her performance compared to her fellow students. Lennox began looking at different options. Lennox played the flute as a member of a group in 1976 named Dragons Playground. She quit the group just before their appearance in I.T.V's the talent program New Faces. From 1977 to 1980 she served as the lead vocalist of The Tourists, a British pop group. She had a meeting with Dave Stewart, with whom formed the pop-duo Eurythmics. Lennox then began to work for her first solo album Diva and it was released in 1992. It had a tremendous record both in terms of commercial and critical. Nostalgia Lennoxs six solo album which was released in October of 2014 was Nostalgia Lennox. The C.D. includes a collection of Lennoxs favourite blues and soul jazz tunes from her early years. Lepidoptera is a collection of four original tracks for piano, which Lennox made available in May 2019. This E.P. It is also a companion to her new album, Now I Let it go... installation that was exhibited at the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. It's also her debut independently released album.
